Converting residential property

Converting residential property

When you want to join together residences, use them as business accommodation or for Airbnb, you are converting residential property. Converting residential property is usually not allowed on the basis of the Housing Allocation Act. The Bench of Mayor and Aldermen can grant an exemption in certain cases by granting a permit. As of 2017 a conversion permit is required for all forms of sharing a residence (room rentals and communes). No permit is required for lodgers/rentals by landlords and landladies, but other conditions apply. We are happy to advise you about the legal possibilities.
