Privacy protection & employee participation

The General Data Protection Regulation (AVG) replaced the Personal Data Protection Act. The AVG applies to all businesses and organisations, and so also to schools, healthcare institutions and self-employed persons. In case of violation of the AVG high fines can be imposed. The works council also plays a part in this. The works council has the right of approval with respect to deciding on or changing a privacy regulation.
